Homeward Bound: Help Make It Happen
Fall FUNdraiser to Get Shelter Pets Home

Every wagging tail, every gentle purr, every joyful adoption story begins long before a pet meets their forever family. Behind the scenes, it takes compassion, expertise, and a significant amount of resources to help each animal heal, thrive, and finally find their way home.

This fall, we invite you to be part of the Dogtoberfest’s Homeward Bound campaign dedicated to funding the vital programs that transform abandoned animals into beloved family members.

Your Support Makes Adoption Possible

Not every pet arrives at the shelter ready for adoption. Many need extra attention, care, or advocacy before they’re ready to join a family.  With full shelters everywhere, many need extra time to find their new pack. With your help, we can provide:

  • Training: Behavioral support that helps shy, anxious, or energetic pets learn the skills they need to succeed in a home.
  • Advocacy: Many abandoned, abused or stray pets arrive at the shelter fearful and under socialized. They won’t be successful at finding homes without staff or volunteers giving them the nurturing and daily support they need.
  • Extended Care:  Medical attention, special diets, rehabilitation, and extra time for pets who just require more time to find the right home.
  • TNR (Trap–Neuter–Return):  Some free-roaming, unowned community cats don't do well in the shelter or in homes.  TNR is a humane, effective approach that reduces overpopulation, prevents suffering, and allows these cats to live out their lives in their familiar outdoor environments.
  • Foster Care:  A bridge to adoption - loving temporary homes where pets can heal, socialize, and grow outside the shelter walls.
  • Transfers: Safe transport for pets from overcrowded shelters, giving them a second chance and time to find homes.

Be the Bridge Home

When you give to Dogtoberfest, you’re not just making a donation - you're saving animals and giving them a chance to have the joyful homecoming they've been waiting for, and the hope of being part of a family filled with love.

Together, We Can Make It Happen

Because of you, pets who were once overlooked, frightened, or broken will become cherished companions.

Galileo’s Journey Home

Our Dogtoberfest "supermascot," Galileo, came to us as a stray, hopeful of finding a home. He’s a smart, eager guy who just needed some extra time and support. Thanks to our extended care program, Galileo has learned to sit, fetch, and get ready for the family he’s always wanted.

Galileo’s transformation is what Dogtoberfest is all about: the behind-the-scenes work that turns shelter pets into family members. With your support, countless other pets will have the same chance.
