A pregnant Charlotte was at risk at another shelter that didn’t have room for her and her eight puppies. We transferred her, and a foster family took her in. After four weeks of nursing her puppies, she developed a prolapsed rectum and needed immediate treatment and medicine. Luckily, she recovered and was able to go back to nursing her puppies a few days later, so they had the nutrition they needed to thrive. Thanks to FURst Aid funds we were able to give Charlotte the medical care she needed, when she needed it. She is now healthy, happy and available for adoption and her puppies will be ready soon!

We operate with a “no-kill” philosophy which means we do whatever it takes to help every pet that comes to us get the medical care they need to survive and thrive. What’s more, we keep giving them all the medical care, food and love they need until they find homes. But we can’t do it without your generosity. The cost of medical care is increasing. In fact, it is one of our largest expenses.
